Bag of Love Special Edition Makeup Bag!

Yes!! Special Edition Bag of Love-The very first!

The bag all subscribers are waiting for! A special edition bag from Bag of Love and also a collaboration with www.onlybeauty.com.my   It was priced at Rm60 and sold out very quickly. If Bag of Love continues with more special edition Baggs it will guarantee a faster time being sold out.

What's so special about this Bag?
Well it is filled with full sized items! Yes 5 full sized items. I was needing lots of new makeup and was so glad when I found out the Special Edition Bag was featuring full sized makeup items, which means I didnt have to spend so much money and I get to save my transport and hassle to get the individual products.

What did I receive?
Well, I was completely blown away with the contents, It was everything I needed and more.

The items:

1) L'Oreal Paris Open Eyes Pro, RM53.90

This Eyeshadow Pallet was everything I was looking for and hoped on getting. It features 4 shades of Olive green and even a 4 step refference in achieving an eyeshadow look. It even featured a highlight colour which will help bring out your eyes and the colour of the eyeshadow.

2) L'Oreal Paris White Perfect Pearl Brush-On Whitening Foundation Essence, RM79.90

This Foundation Essence comes equipped with a built-in brush. Yes, everyone on Bag of Love is obsessed with MakeUp brushes and this is fantastic! The foundation comes out in the brush as soon as you pump the button on the bottom of the bottle. It glides on well on the face and smoothes foundation without making foundation look streaky.

3) Maybelline AngelFit Brighten Up Blush, RM29.90

The Blush is in a Fantastic shade, it is not too pink and not to brown. It leaves your skin looking glowy and natural. It definitely brightens up your face and leaves your cheeks looking oh-so-adorable.

4) Maybelline Color Sensation Lipstick, RM29.90

The lipstick shade that I received would have to be somewhere in between a purple and a pink. It is Gorgeous! It looks so sweet and almost natural looking. It is great for a shopping day, for an evening out and even on a romantic date! Yes, its that versatile.

5) Timeless Truth Collagen Bio Cellulose Mask, RM25 per piece

This mask I would say is to be used before putting on your makeup as it is filled with collagen goodies. Collagen is very important in order for your skin to remain firm and not saggy looking. Receiving only one sachet means the mask can only be used once, so use it a day before your big day! Just for some extra loving on your face.

My Favourite Item: L'Oreal Paris Open Eyes Pro
I was looking on Youtube for makeup tutorials and was always envious on how people could get their eyeshadow looking so perfect. Until I found this in my Special Edition Bag, I started seeing more vidoes and how I can apply my eyeshadow in the shades that I received. It is so easy to carry around in your handbag, although I would recommend leaving it at home because your don't want to drop your eyeshadow as It may break. This Eyes pro is definitely all you need in achieving a certain look. I wish to have more in different colour shades. It is amazing! You definitely need to get your hands on the next special edition bag which will be announced soon hopefully!!!!

Do share with me what colours did you received and how did you find the contents of the bag! Be sure to subscribe to me too !!

Bag Of Love July-Pretty Pink Girl bag

So this July bag is the last in my quarterly subscription and then i will be buying another quarterly subscription for August-October. However, I am quite sad that in the three months i did not receive the mystery gift. Maybe Bag of Love got confused, so those who received please do share with me what you received as a mystery gift?

I received the July Pretty Pink bag this morning but only returned from college about two hours ago and now I am blogging about it because it is just so adorable! I have to say that it is really value for money with what I received this month. Let's talk about the bag firstly, its pink, with lace on the middle part of the bag which just adds a little taste of sweetness. I would say, the pink colour just screams bag of Love!

The items is the bag was:-
1)Polka Dot...by Splassh Nail Polish (Full size), Rm7.90- Rm8.90
2)L'oreal Professionel Paris Liss Ultime Smoothing Shampoo, RM20 (100ml)
3)Ju Ju Aquamoist Facial Cleansing Wash, RM 15.40 (50g)
4)Freshe Pore Cover BB Cream, RM 2.95 (5g)

And there were two items outside the bag as the bag was overloaded! :-
5)Etude House Moistfull Aloe Skincare 4 kinds Kit, (Price Unknown)
6)TheFaceShop Chia Seed Trial Set, (Price Unknown)

Afterall, it is always a good sign to receive items flowing out from the bag because it can't fit! It means we are receiving lots of items this month!

My favourite in the bag:- Polka Dot...by Splassh Nail Polish
Why? Its because this is the first time Bag of Love is featuring a nail polish and the colour was very me! I somehow is always given blue for my first nail polish from a beauty subscription. Got Blue from another beauty box too for the first time , so i guess I will somehow get Blue as a start colour. I am in love with Nail Polishes and it never bores me because there are so many colours and so many ways for you to wear nail polishes. So this is my favourite product! Anyone want to donate to me their nail polish if you didn't like the colour (comment below)?

My Verdict:-
Bag of Love is guranteed a value for money as the Founder Mimi knows exactly what subscribers expect and never lets us down. I have been subscribing since the start of the debut Bag and so far I have 6 beautiful bags by Bag of Love. Yes five months and the special edition bag. I am very happy to be discovering more new brands with Bag of Love and feel delighted to be living in an asian country. If you haven't subscribe to bag of love, you really need to.

Taming frizzy and damaged hair

Taming Frizzy and Damaged Hair

Taming Frizzy Hair
There are a million different ways we can damage our hair, whether its from a weekly swim or just being out in the sun unprotected. You love your wavy hair but not the frizzy hairs when you brush those curls.

Hair is complex and it is made up of three layers and thousands of cells. But the reason it gets frizzy is pretty simple. Your hair’s outer layer, the cuticle, looks kind of like a shingled roof. When hair is smooth, those shingles lie flat, but when you brush through dry, curly hair, those shingles lift. Frizzy hair is often drier and naturally tends to absorb moisture from humid air.

Get to know the Kinds of damage on your hair
1)      The damage: Over-processing
Over-processing is caused when bleaching and dyeing hair. This strips off natural pigments and creates tears that make hair weak. To cure: Once a week, use a deep-conditioning protein treatment to coat the cuticle and fill in those hollow areas. Apply it evenly all over freshly shampooed hair, then twist your hair into a bun and sleep with a towel on your pillow. Rinse your hair out in the morning.

2)      The damage: Hair Breakage
The friction of brush bristles rubbing against the cuticle (the overlapping cells along the outer layer of your hair) tears the surface. To cure: Keep the cuticles smooth and intact by coating damp or dry hair from the mid-shaft to the ends with a pea-size dab of serum that contains silicone.

3)      The damage: Split Ends
When the protective cuticle at the end of the hair shaft wears away, the tip frays; that crack then travels up the hair shaft. To cure: The only way to cure split ends is to trim hair every six to eight weeks. For temporary fix and to prevent further spilt ends, apply a hair serum just to the tips of the hair. Find one that has glycerine or hyaluronic acid and both bonds the ends together.

4)      The damage: Chemical chaos
Perming and straightening changes the structure of hair, making it weak, coarse and brittle. The parched strands soak up moisture from the air causing frizz. To cure: Look for styling products that contain sterol alcohol, a fatty alcohol that strengthens and softens hair.

Quick tips to keep hair Frizz-free
1)      Don’t Brush DRY hair
2)      Comb dry hair with wet fingers
3)      Tame with a touch of leave-on conditioner
4)      Look for protein when buying your conditioner
5)      Don’t over-process hair with relaxers and straighteners.
6)      Put moisture back into your hair
7)      Stop using high temperatures when blow-drying/straightening/curling hair
8)      Use a round brush to smooth your hair
9)      Dry only the roots of your hair
10)  Talk to your hairstylist for further advice.

Makeup Removers are very important

Makeup Removers

Make-up Removers
Let’s face it, the last thing you feel like doing after getting home late is taking off your makeup (kicking off your high heels is first priority). The thought of washing your face is less than appealing, but it could save your skin. It is essential to remove your makeup with makeup remover before cleansing, and use separate removers for your eyes. This will prevent clogged pores and ensure that you clean your face properly. With more cleansing waters, cleansing oils, makeup removing wipes and pads than seems humanly possible on the market today, how do you choose just one?

Did you know?
Did you know that leftover mascara can lead to eye infections, discoloration and puffy eyes in the mornings?
It is very important to take all of your eye makeup off with a remover targeted for that area. Do not swipe off make up remover wipes quickly on eyes and eye areas. Simply place a cotton ball with remover on your eyelids, hold in for a minute to dissolve the product, the wipe off gently.

Finding a makeup remover for you

Micellar Water/ Cleansing Water: A gentle option for sensitive skin, micellar or cleansing water will remove basic makeup, but may need to be swiped on two or three times to completely clean the skin. It is recommended to use an eye makeup remover after, if you prefer waterproof mascara or long-wearing eye liner.

Cleansing Oil: Perfect for dehydrated and dry skin, cleansing oil helps to balance your skin’s natural sebum production, but rinses into a milky emulsion. Ideal for removing long-lasting or water-resistant makeup, the oil manages to break down virtually any ingredient.

Oil-Based Makeup Remover: If your looking for a standard formula that takes off your makeup in one swipe, turn to a liquid oil-based makeup remover. Unlike cleansing oils, these formulas contain water-based ingredients so you never feel an oily residue on your skin.

Makeup Wipes: The answer to late nights and vacation time, makeup wipes come in different strengths. Some contain stronger ingredients than others, but all get the majority of makeup off your face so you can sleep with a clean face.

Eye Makeup Remover: Why use a separate remover for your eyes? The area around your eyes is incredibly sensitive and requires more delicate formulas compared to the rest of your face.

Why remove your makeup and cleanse your face?

Makeup removal should be part of your daily skin care ritual because it is good for your skin. By cleansing your face well, you will discover the joy of fresh, toned, supple and well-moisturized skin, even if you just wear a little makeup or none at all.

More specifically it helps:
-Wash away cosmetics, impurities and dirt from the surface of your skin
-Reduce the risk of developing pimples, redness, blackheads and other types of blemishes
-Promote cellular renewal by eliminating dead skin
-Lets your skin breathe

Make up brushes that you need

Makeup Brushes that you need
To create a work of art, whether on canvas or your eye crease, artists will often reach for a makeup brush. When it comes to makeup brushes, collect them like pirate treasure. Buy as many brushes as you can comfortably afford. Specialised makeup brushes will help us apply and blend colours to create different makeup looks. You’ll use your brushes every day and you won’t regret having a variety from which to choose.

Brush heads may be made from natural fibres like squirrel, goat or horse hair while others are made from synthetic fibres. There’s no better way to find your ideal brush, but be aware that some people are allergic to certain animal hairs.

Short- Versus Long-Handled Brushes
Brush handles come in different lengths and weights, and which one you choose depends on your personal preference. Small hands might prefer short brush handles.

Let’s look at Face Brushes.
-We use face brushes to apply foundation, concealer, powders and blush.

Foundation Brush: Used to apply foundation to the face and typically made from synthetic fibres. Most foundation brushes have a small, rounded brush head shaped like a tiny spatula.

Concealer Brush: Concealer brushes look like mini foundation brushes. Being smaller than foundation brushes make them better suited for covering blemishes or for applying liquid concealers in places like the corners of the eyes.

Blush Brush: They resemble small powder brushes with either a sloped or rounded tip. Works well when applying blush/bronzer on cheeks.

Let’s look at Eye Brushes.

Eyebrow Brush: Eyebrow brushes have firm, angled brush heads like the tip of a marker. Use them to apply powders, creams or waxes to eyebrows.

Eye-shadow Brush: Not as stiff as an eye-shadow brush have square heads to evenly apply both powder and cream shadows to eyelids.

Blending Brush: Like the name implies, blending brushes are used to blend different coloured products and to wipe out harsh lines. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Not as firm as eye-shadow brush heads, the heads of blending brushes are usually tapered.

Let’s look at Lip Brushes

Lipstick brushes are mainly for those who work on your clients. You can’t use lipstick directly from the tube, so a small lip brush is ideal for application. This is a very flat brush that makes it easy to dip into a product and apply smoothly and evenly.

How to clean your brushes
Regularly cleaning makeup brushes extends their useful life. Some makeup lines sell liquid brush cleaning solutions, but baby shampoo and water also work well. Antibacterial wipes provide a quick way to clean brush heads in the car or whatever water would make a mess. After cleaning your brushes, reshape the brush heads with your fingers and line them up on the edge of a shelf or sink to dry.

Choosing a perfume that suits your personality
Choosing a perfume is like finding the most flattering hairstyle for your face shape. It should suit your personality very well. If you have only purchased a perfume for yourself because someone else liked it, then you may not be aware of your perfume personality. If you are like some women, you may be able to find that one fantastic scent known as your “signature scent”.
We choose perfume based on memory
We often like a perfume because of an emotional or sensory tie that reminds of us something we love , so it's important to look for a perfume with notes that align with places and activities we enjoy. Choosing a fragrance with reminiscent qualities and ingredients will lift your spirit each time you wear it!

Finding a fragrance that fits you can be difficult.
There are five major categories of perfumes:
1)    Woody
2)     Green
3)    Floral
4)    Fruity
5)    Oriental
Each has specific notes and evokes different places and feelings – you're sure to find one or two categories that call out to you. Arm yourself with this info before you go perfume shopping and you'll know the key things to look for, narrow your search and find the best scent to enhance your personality.

WOODY

Woody scents are full of earthy, warm, wintery smells. Free spirited and self-assured, the wearer of woody fragrances knows what she wants and usually gets it. These perfumes, with their woody middle note, are warm and opulent when focused on sandalwood or patchouli. They often contain a dash of citrus or aromatic notes.

Woody perfumes particularly touch nature lovers - Do you like hikes and the smells of the great outdoors? Do you like sitting by the fire and autumnal scents of leaves and bark? You might like woody scents!

-Key woody notes to look for on the bottle: sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver, oak, Gaiac wood, and cedar.

GREEN

Green fragrances are fresh, sporty, casual scents. The green family became very fashionable in the mid-20th century. Many fragrances termed "green" derive from galbanum, a natural ingredient that evokes freshly cut grass. The green note is synonymous with naturalness, freshness, and youth.

Are you typically a relaxed person? Love the beach and a good run? Don't like your scent to overpower you? You might like green scents!

-Key green notes to look for on the bottle: galbanum, violet leaves, petit grain, hyacinth, rhubarb, and ivy leaves.

FLORAL

Do you love classic movies, beautifully tailored clothes, and delicate feminine make-up? You might like floral scents!
What does it mean if your perfume personality is Floral? You're always the centre of attention-and you wouldn't have it any other way. Flirtatious, vivacious, and playful, you're sweet but confident at the same time. Your little secret: you're a hopeless romantic. If your perfume personality is Floral you're an unmistakeable girly-girl--and you're not afraid to show it. So spritz your pretty self with one of the fabulously feminine flowery fragrances and get out there...because the party can't start without you!
Bold blooms like roses, peonies, jasmine, orchid or freesia can each take a starring role. Or they can be blended together with each other and with other flowery notes for a myriad of different creative combinations. This is not your great-granny's powdery floral perfume. Today's florals are as bright and lively as the modern girls who wear them. Perfumers can warm up florals with sultry smooth hints of vanilla and moist amber. Spices might slink seductively through the base notes.
Even more wildly popular are the fruity florals, these attention grabbing floral notes layered with ripe berries, blushing plums, juicy apricots, or sugary sweet lychee for a perfume that's anything but a shrinking violet.
-Key floral notes to look for on the bottle: rose, jasmine, lily of the valley, violet, peony, tuberose, magnolia, lilacs, and ylang-ylang.

FRUITY

Fruity fragrances are fresh, citrusy and sometimes a little spicy. Fruity notes in fragrances are very popular now, they convey modernity and originality and bring a mouth-watering effect to fragrances.

Do you have an energetic, youthful spirit? Love the smell of fresh fruit in the summertime? You might like fruity scents!

Key fruity notes to look for on the bottle: apple, cherry, red currant, raspberry, apricot, peach, and melon.

ORIENTAL

If your perfume personality is Oriental, you are truly one-of-a-kind, bold, sophisticated, and in control. You're mysterious and don't let people get to know you too quickly. Maybe you even have a bit of a dangerous daredevil side. If you're a passionate dreamer, than Oriental fragrances are definitely your perfume personality--let a spritz of one of these exotic scents whisk you away to faraway forgotten lands

Oriental fragrances are rich, sensual, exotic, knockout scents. Orientals, also known as 'amber' fragrances, stand out because of their unique blend of warmth and sensuality. They draw their richness from heady ingredients and tend to be opulent and bewitching.Do you love dressing up and turning heads? Love flirting and performing? You might like oriental scents!

Key oriental notes to look for on the bottle: amber, vanilla, musk, precious woods, exotic flowers, spices like cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, clove, and animal notes.
Oriental perfumes are made of everything that's warm, sensual, and opulent: gleaming amber notes and ancient spices like cinammon, nutmeg, and clove. These are laced with ethereal wisps of incense or drizzled with soft musk.
